Big Bro

Escaping the wet weather, I headed into my usual cafe for a cuppa and a read of the Daily Scum. And as usual there were several others sat around with lap-tops and the increasingly ubiquitous iPad, busily tapping away into the interwebbythingycosmos. So I picked up a discarded analogue device that required no batteries or internet connection, a newspaper.

And there, tucked away on the inside of page two, something rather more important than the front page news of the wet weather, was the story of our increasing police state. In fact all those around me busy on the interwebby, were already probably being monitored, filed and date-stamped by some faceless software program on some huge server somewhere. But soon that information can be legally read by the 'authorities' whenever they want.

Everything is to be stored and be available to read by the State. To 'protect' us. As a country we already have the highest level of surveillance of our citizens in the so-called free world. And it's going to get worse. And the worst thing is, we are too apathetic to stop this encroaching bureaucratic monitoring. However, there IS some highly-vocal opposition and it might not yet be passed into law, but I doubt it. Terry Gilliams fictional 'Brazil' is increasingly becoming reality.

I may be paranoid, but that doesn't mean they're not still out to get me...

That's It Folks!

The gate is now shut. With no one around, it's time to turn off the lights and leave. It's been fun and maybe one day someone will...
