Malacca / Malaka

First class train travel to near Malaka, a two hour journey, costs four pounds. The train is dilapidated and rushes along at almost 50kph, swaying and bouncing along through kampong towns and through endless palm oil and rubber plantations. I loved it! Unfortunately a new modern express will be completed in two years and bland modern travel will be here. For the money, we also received sandwiches and bottled water. ( just don't try the loo... )
